We present a Variety of Styles including :-
Spirituals, Folk Songs, Operatic pieces, Sacred Music, Gilbert and
Sullivan.
New Songs for 2008/9: -
New items include ‘The Day is Past’ written by Thomas
Miller and composed by our conductor as a special request for Eric
Schofield. Our "songs from the Musicals" is a selection
from Les Miserables by Schonberg arranged for male voice choir by
A. Humphreys. Also we are rehearsing ' the Long Day Closes' by Henry
F. Chorley and Arthur Sullivan.
Our ‘foreign’ song this year is ‘Die Nacht’
from Op17 No 4 by F Schubert which naturally we are singing in German.
We are also singing the 'Workin' Man’ which is a traditional
song about mining from Nova Scotia.
